Silicone implants
In recent years, high quality implants that are 100% safe have been used in breast augmentation. The most recent and high quality implants consist of a cohesive silicone gel (saline inserts are no longer used due to the risk of rupture). Cohesive gel implants, and in particular anatomical implants, are designed to give the breasts a more natural shape and shape, maintaining a normal groove and a normal curve downward. Surgical technique
Through a 3-4 cm incision in the subcutaneous fold or around the nipple, your plastic surgeon inserts the insert either under the major thoracic muscle or directly below the gland. Dual Plane Technique by Tebbets has become very popular recently, in which the upper part of the implant is below the muscle and the lower part below the gland.
Type of anesthesia
Breast enlargement is done under general anesthesia. After a discussion with the anesthesiologist there is also the possibility of sedation in combination with local anesthesia.

Postoperative period
After surgery your breasts may be a little swollen and tense (your skin needs to be adjusted to the new size and shape). These symptoms, as well as the discomfort that you are feeling, will soon subside. The sutures we use are absorbable, so they dissolve within 3-4 weeks after surgery.
Back to daily activities
We recommend that our patients wait 1 week before returning to their professional activities. During the first days after breast augmentation patients should rest. Do not hesitate to get help with household chores (even the use of vacuum cleaners should be avoided during the first week).
We advise our patients to lift only light objects and avoid lifting heavy objects and limit themselves to light exercise only during the first month. After a breast augmentation it is more comfortable to sleep in a supine position.
If you enjoy sunbathing and even topless, you should apply a sunscreen with a protective index of 50, because the quality of the scars is negatively affected by sun exposure. To give new breasts support and to keep swelling to a minimum it is useful to wear a sports bra for the first 3 months (without a bra). You can start the bath normally after 1 week, but you should avoid soaking ("soaking") until the grits ("crusts") disappear from your incisions. Finally you can start exercising in 1-2 months.
