What is Laser Hair Removal? How does it work?
Laser hair removal offers patients a safe and effective treatment for unwanted hair growth. The lasers act by emitting a special light that passes through the skin and is selectively absorbed by the target, which in this case is the hair's melanin. The lasers aim at the melanin of the hair, destroying the follicle and thus removing the hair. Laser hair removal is a safe method used on all parts of the body such as face, armpits, back, hands, bikini, legs, etc.
What should I do before treatment?
In the area where the laser is to be applied, it should take 1-2 days before the hair is removed by shaving or waxing. In general, hair is suitable for laser hair removal when it is only 1-2mm long.
Can All Colored Skin Types Be treated?
Our lasers can treat all skin types from type I to type V. (Greeks have type II-III photocopy)
Is There Any Risk For Complications?
There is a minimal risk of skin color changes however with the proper use of lasers this risk is eliminated.
Is Genital Pseudoillitis Treated?
Yes. Pseudofolliculitis is a type of chronic acne disorder caused by coarse hair or curly hair. This disorder affects darker skin and treatment with toddler is the appropriate treatment. In general, however, diode laser also treats other skin conditions, such as hair follicles, acne, and can be applied after surgical treatment of the coccyx cyst to reduce relapses.
Is the treatment permanent?
Yes. In general, every laser treatment achieves permanent hair removal. So in most cases waxing can be achieved after a few sessions. The number of sessions depends on the particular reaction of the patient to the laser and the amount of hair removed. Remember that the purpose may not be total hair removal. Many patients are satisfied with a remarkable degree of epilation. Also remember that the remaining hairs are lighter and thinner than those before treatment and generally achieve an 80-85% reduction in unwanted hair.
How many treatments will be needed?
For areas like the bikini line and armpits averaging 4-8 sessions you forget about unwanted hair. For other areas the number of sessions depends on the type of hair (color, diameter, etc.) and various hormonal factors. The most difficult area to treat (due to the large number of hair follicles present in it) is the face. It is noted that the sessions are repeated every 4-6 weeks and that of the three hair growth periods (anagen, catagen and telogen) only the hair in the regenerative phase is successfully treated.
Is the treatment painful? What should I expect after treatment?
Most patients describe laser hair removal as a feeling of "pinch". After treatment, the effect can be felt as a solar erythema. Each patient has their own level of skin sensitivity and pain sensation. Even different areas of the body are more sensitive than some others. Laser hair removal is best done when the hair is 1-2mm in length.
How long will healing last?
Usually the skin looks red and swollen for a few minutes and rarely longer. Occasionally patients may develop a bubble reaction. If this happens, call your doctor and ask for special (after laser) treatment.
How will I look after the treatment?
Generally an erythema can usually be present for a few hours. As for unwanted hair, it should be known that the laser is in no way a "wax". With the laser you need to show a little patience (from 3-4 days to 3 weeks) to realize its impressive results. Then you will find that some hairs fall or "stay in your hands", others do not reappear, gaps are created and gradually hairs become lessand lighter.
